There are no customs duties or any additional taxes for EU customers. For deliveries outside of the EU, additional charges may apply, please contact your local customs office (HS code: 3926.30.50.00). Keep in mind that the customs value (the declared value, which is the transaction value in our case) and the net weight of the product are both limited in a way that such shipment is very often below the deductible threshold (i.e. duty-free) in most states. VAT and any local taxes may still apply for non-EU citizens.

NB: Unfortunately, larger iPhone PLUS and MAX versions are not compatible with CAR-A-DOCK for Audi TT, due to the very limited space in the ashtray compartment (these phones are too large).

CAR-A-DOCK  is also offered as a special version with a wider inlet for some small phones with a protective case. This includes iPhone 5, 5S, SE, SE2, SE3, 12 mini and 13 mini. The compatible protective case is then the Apple Silicone Case (with or without Magsafe), or similar, or thinner. Any larger and/or thicker case won't fit. For example, it has been confirmed that iPhone 12 mini & 13 mini with the ORNARTO slim liquid case do fit in the CAR-A-DOCK version made for these phones and the Apple MagSafe case.

However, it's impossible to create a version of CAR-A-DOCK  that accepts larger phones with a protective case, due to the very limited space in the TT ashtray compartment, for exactly the same reason that it's impossible to create a version compatible with iPhone PLUS and MAX versions, which are too large.

Yes. Some phones have the same (or very similar) dimensions across generations, meaning that a particular model of CAR-A-DOCK actually fits several different phones.

For example, the version of CAR-A-DOCK for Audi TT made for iPhone 12 is also compatible with iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Pro.

Yes. In 2014, we created CarPlayDock, which was the first iPhone dock for the Audi TT mk2. It was only compatible with iPhone models (hence the name). At that time, it was manufactured and sold under license by Shapeways, which unfortunately went bankrupt in 2024. As Shapeways was a purely online 3D printing service company, the USB cable had to be purchased and installed as a DIY process by the customer.

As of 2024, our band has been rebooted. Now leveraged on our own from design to production and shipping, CAR-A-DOCK  works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (growing list of compatible smartphones, see opposite).
Icing on the cake: the USB cable is now included and preinstalled at no extra cost!

The Audi TT mk2 was created in an era before Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Most of the car's owners today swap the old original Audi RNS-E navigation system or Symphony car radio for a more modern, aftermarket 2DIN touchscreen head unit.

You can't go wrong with anything from Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood or Sony on the market today. Just check that the unit is compatible with wired Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto, and pay attention to the cable harness connectors as well as the compatibility with your amplifier (especially with respect to Bose amps and the TT model year).

There is a second path: Chinese Android head units with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, which often offer a bigger screen (9" or even 9.5" for the Audi TT!) — if you go this route, we'd recommend a decent unit from T'EYES (such as the CC3 or CC3 2K) or MEKEDE (M6 Pro, M6 Pro Plus, M7 Plus, or the new DUDU6 or DUDU7) purchased directly from their website (not via a Chinese platform with sellers posing as them) and specifically designed for the Audi TT dashboard (i.e. a touchscreen head unit supplied with dedicated cable harness and fascia frame). If you choose another Chinese brand, at the very least opt for an FYT-based head unit with Unisoc UIS-7862, 7862S or 7870; 4 or 6GB of RAM (less is not enough, more is unnecessary), with a cooling fan on the chassis. Android version numbers on these units are always fanciful and irrelevant. The QLED LCD touchscreen definition of these units is either 720p (1280×720 pixels) or 2K (2000×1200 pixels). Avoid anything else on the Chinese market!

YouTube tutorials are also a good resource. Alternatively, any good specialist garage apart from brand dealers can install this aftermarket equipment for you.
